Darryl Reiter
President
Darryl is President and founder of Children’s Technology Workshop. The first years of his career were spent as an elementary school teacher and Department Head in both Science and Computer Science. He was fully aware of the often-limited science and technology curriculum in traditional schooling. So when he left teaching in 1997, he decided to start a company that would teach children how to apply technology and give them lifelong learning skills.
“I began by teaching children how to build and program robots for projects about Mars. Then I added to the curriculum introducing engineering, animation, graphic design and other disciplines until I found myself running programs at schools, as camps, and at birthday parties and special events. Through this growth I remained focused on empowering children, through the use of computer and other technologies, to stretch their imaginations far beyond textbooks and teacher presentations. And I believe today that we are inspiring this young generation, through our curriculum, to become the inventors and creators of new ideas in the 21st century.”
Bonnie Reiter
Director of Administration
Bonnie Reiter has been involved with CTWorkshop from the point it was just an idea. From it’s birth she has helped operate the company from every angle possible…marketing, production, fulfillment, scheduling, finance…all while raising three kids (granted one of them is her husband Darryl). Their real kids have been test pilots for virtually every CTWorkshop program in operation and serve as models for most of the company’s marketing collateral. Bonnie is the backbone of the head office operation and keeps the office humming. It’s a good thing she has an athletic background so she can keep up the hectic pace.
Carl Roulston
Head Instructor & Curriculum Support
Carl is an industrial millwright with a long history of applying his technical skills in unorthodox ways. Since 2000 he has worked as a mechanical technician on countless custom projects for film and television, as well as architectural/design firms. A technology enthusiast, Carl welcomes the transition from industry to education, and the opportunity to expand his creative pursuits into new areas.
Errol Elumir
Multimedia Design & IT
Errol Elumir does Multimedia Design, IT, curriculum development, coffee preparation, and very bad documentation. He has a degree in Computer Science, and after 6 years at IBM staring at network cables, he discovered his true passion at CTWorkshop, joining the company in November, 2002. Being able to utilize his creative skills with his technical skills, he has finally found a place where he can do meaningful work and have a lot of fun. One of the biggest kids in the company, he often finds himself exploring, inventing and creating. He now works happily from home but misses Tim Horton's and collecting apple stickers.
